This is a professional position in which the incumbent ensures the incorporation of architectural research embedded into various AIA programs into the organizationA cents € (TM) s Research Agenda and knowledge portfolio. The position also advances the architectural goals of the AIA: increase research literacy of the profession; enable and support research; and gather, translate, disseminate, and celebrate research findings. This position will report to the Managing Director, Research and Practice.A' Job Duties:Help coordinate the research work of AIA knowledge communities and other member groups in order to ensure it aligns and is incorporated into AIAA cents € (TM) s overarching architectural research goals.Help provide tools and guidance for member groups to get engaged in AIAA cents € (TM) s research programs.Coordinate architectural research and practice relevant-research educational content and event programming to increase research literacy.Ensure that architectural research content is delivered appropriately by subject matter experts and alternative sources.Work collaboratively with internal AIA content, marketing, and communications teams to expand AIAA cents € (TM) s support and dissemination of research findings.Manage AIAA cents € (TM) s contribution to the AIAS (American Institute of Architectural Students) Crit Scholar research mentorship program, including communicating with mentors and working with AIAS on the day-to-day aspects of the program.Help manage, provide logistics, and offer support for AIAA cents € (TM) s convenings around research, including Research Summits.Help support AIAA cents € (TM) s research-related initiatives with ACSA (Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture).Coordinate with the Director, Sustainable Metrics & Operations and the Director, Higher Education to advance AIAA cents € (TM) s research goals through collaboration and avoid duplication.Help Manager, Research and Archives to engage staff, members, and stakeholders to create long-term knowledge products.Promote emerging research agendas in architecture and their related knowledge products through online channels, AIAA cents € (TM) s communications, and/or educational vehicles.Support maximizing the impact of AIAA cents € (TM) s research investments in relevant topics (eg, architectural practice, architectural space and building typologies, materials and methods of construction).Help coordinate AIAA cents € (TM) s Foresight Initiative, working with the Director of Firm Engagement and other members of the Research and Practice team, members, and other AIA staff.Maintain AIAA cents € (TM) s list of research disruptions and future trends impacting architectural practice, profession, and industry at large.Help maintain and update AIAA cents € (TM) s Research Agenda and track progress of AIAA cents € (TM) s architectural research goals.Perform related duties as assigned.A' A' Frequent Contacts:A' Manager, Research and ArchivesMembers of the Knowledge Community teamDirector, Market and Economic ResearchDirector, Firm EngagementDirector, Sustainable Metrics & OperationsDirector, Higher EducationDirector, Archives and RecordsOther members of the Research and Practice teamOther members of the Knowledge and Practice team (sustainability, continuing education)Other members of the staff within the AIA: National and componentsContent partnersAIA membersService contractorsGeneral publicOther organizationsJob Requirements:Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Experience working across teams, both within the organization and with outside volunteers. Self-starter with the ability to interact effectively in an individual membership environment, work effectively with vendors, manage multiple projects, set priorities, and recognize the importance of deadlines.A' Excellent organizational skills and the ability to convene and facilitate group discussions and meetings. Experience or interest in tracking societal trends. Industry experience preferred, but not required.A' BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology), Architecture, Communication, Engineering, or equivalent discipline with a minimum of four years relevant experience.
