Protenus, a healthcare compliance analytics company based in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a Lead Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Lead Accountant will play an integral role in building out the accounting function at Protenus. This role is a great opportunity to learn and contribute to a fast-growing company in a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities Assist with financial audit preparation and responses including annual external audit, bank audits, and other audits as required Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including preparing and entering journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts Preparation and review of standard financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) Preparation of supporting schedules to financials Participate in streamlining and process improvement projects, enhancing the internal controls over accounting systems, processes, metrics, and reporting Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned Key Qualifications, Skills, or Competencies BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA preferred or working towards your CPA At least 2-3 years of accounting experience Thorough knowledge of GAAP Knowledge of Quickbooks preferred Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines Strong spreadsheet skills Effective collaborator who is comfortable working within teams and individually The Protenus healthcare compliance analytics platform uses artificial intelligence to audit every access to patient records for the nationA cents € (TM) s leading health systems.
