  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in computer science, Engineering, Information system, or related scientific and technical discipline is highly desirable.
  • AWS Cloud security certificate is highly desirable.
  • Work experience in Cloud technology is highly desirable.
  • In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. If qualifying based on education, a copy of your unofficial transcripts must be provided with your application.

    Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is IT security related and demonstrates each of the following competencies: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. This must include activities such as: (1) providing expert technical authority and guidance on the information system security issues; (2) evaluating plans and responding to security audits to ensure system compliance, and minimize system vulnerabilities; (3) recommending changes related to IT system security to senior management to keep up-to-date of industry changes; (4) resolving technical issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure; (5) serving as team leader overseeing a team of information technology specialists responsible for the organization's information system security. This experience must be comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in private or public sectors).



    In addition, you must provide a cover letter describing your experience with the competencies identified below:

    Information Systems/Network Security-Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information systems vulnerabilities, and provide or restore security of information systems and network services.

    Oral Communication-Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

    Planning and Evaluating-Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.

    Problem Solving-Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    Teamwork -Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity; fosters commitment and team spirit; works with others to achieve goal

    Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
