Program Manager - Vendor Management
What you'll be doing The Program Manager will report into the Director of Business Commercial Ops and work with business unit leaders and functional leaders at the highest levels within the organization to execute on a wide variety of strategic projects aimed at optimizing the way we use our vendors, commercials we negotiate, and ensuring we are fully leveraging the scale of Verizon across our contracts. The PM may be asked to drive business projects across multiple Verizon business units.The PM will not only get to frame the initiative scope and strategy but will also lead the execution of the recommendations. In this process, the PM will lead the execution teams in tandem with the business and functional units.Lead conception, scope definition, and execution of various types of strategic and vendor initiatives, ranging from Corporate and Operational Strategy, Process Improvement to financial negotiations.Provide proactive and engaged leadership on key projects designed to increase reduce expenses, enhance business efficiency, and improve customer experienceAct as an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniquesWorking with the Director of Commercial, provide effective leadership for the initiatives under analysis and executionProvide senior leadership and functional unit management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risksUnderstand and analyze various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholdersBe a liaison between business units on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scopeFacilitate team meetings and cross-functional workshopsConduct analyses needed to prove or disprove the hypothesis driving the project executionProactively anticipate and work towards mitigating risks to project execution or stakeholder engagement.What we're looking for You are someone that has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and are comfortable working up and across the organization from senior staff members to front line employees. You have a proven record for managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget and are an experienced team leader with proven facilitation and problem solving experience. You are a strategic thinker that results in new ideas that drive the business forward.You'll need to have:Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.Six or more years of relevant work experience.Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.Even better if you have:Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or any other technical discipline.Experience working in a vendor management organization.Experience working in telecom or related industries.Excellent presentation skills, including ability to create presentations using MS PowerPoint and experience presenting to all levels of an organization.Quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data, and use MS Excel effectively to develop models and drive analyses.Experience in vendor strategy, operational processes, and customer experience.When you join Verizon You'll be doing work that matters alongside other talented people, transforming the way people, businesses and things connect with each other.
