Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator

The Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator works with the Public Relations and Marketing (PRM) department in support of Adventist HealthCare (AHC) entities and services. The coordinator's role involves working with other members of the PRM team, as well as internal departments, to support projects related to the PRM strategies. The coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment on projects that include writing, such as articles, blogs and reports for Adventist publications, helping with events and supporting the overall Adventist HealthCare PRM team. The position reports to the Design/Communications Manager.

Ideal candidates should be strong writers and solid communicators. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable juggling several projects at once and working in a fast-paced environment. Some work at evening or weekend events may be required. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a similar area. Internships or other experience working in communications, public relations or marketing is preferred. Knowledge of the Adventist Church and other religious institutions preferred.

Specific activities in this role include:

1. Support Public Relations/Marketing Department in day-to-day projects for internal and external communications. This can include drafting materials, such as articles, ads and fliers.
2. Draft articles for internal employee newsletters.
3. Write posts on Adventist HealthCare achievements for other Adventist publications.
4. Work with various internal departments and service line leaders on PR/Marketing activities.
5. Work with Public Relations and Marketing team to help manage system social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. This includes drafting posts/messages.
6. Work to support community events.

Work Schedule:

mostly 8-5, with three or four nights or weekends per year.
