Sentara Healthcare is hiring a full time Senior Compliance Auditor. Position is can be based in Norfolk or Harrisonburg.

Position Overview
  • Travel to Sentara's extended sites outside of Hampton Roads required approximately 35% of the time.
  • Analyze compliance and internal process risks for all Sentara Divisions.
  • Assist the Compliance department in risk analysis, planning, auditing and program development for compliance activities throughout Sentara.
  • Participate in compliance and fraud investigations.
  • Provide consultation and education for Sentara staff impacted by compliance activities.
  • Acts as a resource for compliance, coding, charge capture and third party reimbursement regulations and rules.
  • Management of multiple projects and supervision of audit projects for staff.

  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, HIM, Health Administration or similar degree
  • Experience
    • Accounting/Auditing - 5 years
    • Medical Coding - 1 year preferred
    • Healthcare - 1 year
    • Risk Planning - 1 year
    • Risk Planning/Compliance - 2 years
    • Healthcare Billing - 2 years
  • License/Certification
    • Cert Coding Specialist OR Cert Professional Coder OR Certified Outpatient Coder

Bachelor's level degree in Business Administration, HIM, Health Administration or similar degree. 2-5 years experience required in Healthcare Billing/Revenue Cycle. 2-5 years experience required in Risk Planning/Compliance. 1 year knowledge of coding and billing rules required. AAPC/ AHIMA Coding certification CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P or RHIT required Healthcare Compliance Certificate (CHC), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred
