JOB SUMMARY (Please Read):

The Workers' Compensation Manager organizes, directs and maintains the operations and procedures of the Sentara Healthcare workers' compensation program in a way that contributes to meeting the mission and goals of Sentara Healthcare, and conforming to the requirements of regulatory agencies and other applicable federal and state statutes. In addition, the Worker s 1 Compensation Manager is responsible for preparing the annual budget for this department and monitoring expenditures.

Interface with Third Party Administrator, attorneys, physicians, third party vendors, actuarial team, Sentara finance department, insurance broker and workers' compensation excess insurance carrier for the purpose of maintaining, monitoring and measuring the appropriate business model to insure a successful self-insured program. Prepare and distribute appropriate injury research, statistical and financial analysis to various leadership teams across the entire Sentara system to identify injury trending. Diligently promote a safe workplace environment for employees. Monitor trends and innovations in the field of workers' compensation administration and current legislative/regulatory issues.
