Marketing Specialist

The Washington Post Live

The marketing specialist will be responsible for implementing marketing campaigns for all Washington Post Live events and managing creative collateral pertaining to an event, including sponsor fulfillment. This is a unique role that not only manages overall event marketing workflow, deadlines and delivery but also works with high-profile clients to manage sponsor logistics and build out sponsor-specific event content. Demanding a strong mix of marketing, communication, business, organizational and collaboration skills, this position will work closely with a variety of departments including news producers, sales, event logistics and graphic designers. You would be joining a fast-paced, highly collaborative and creative team that produces approximately 50 news events a year.

Job responsibilities:
  • Manage the full life-cycle of the creative marketing process for Washington Post Live events
  • Working in conjunction with another Marketing Specialist, develop marketing campaigns and social media strategies to promote Washington Post Live events
  • Leverage campaign performance data and industry insights to create strategic marketing recommendations
  • Develop event promotional timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Oversee Washington Post Live sponsor deliverables and benefits post-sale
  • Work closely with clients to create best practices and develop engaging event sponsor content, when applicable


Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns and paid social media campaigns
  • The ability to work collaboratively, prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional skills in time management, organization, teamwork and client and customer services
  • Strong writing, copy editing and research ability
  • Advanced skill level of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong media, marketing, agency, client management or project management background (3+ years)
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university
