Resource / Float Pool

Selected candidate will work in Intermediate Care/Inpatient Care Units


Department/Position Overview:
  • Full Time Resource / Float Pool Registered Nurses work 36-hours per week, rotating to minimum of 2 different departments in one hospital.
  • The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
  • This position requires minimum of 18 months of recent hospital-based Registered Nurse experience.

New Hire Education Requirement: All Registered Nurses who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to successfully obtain their BSN within 5 years of hire. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU/EP/Advanced Heart Failure Center/SMG Cardiology Practices- ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
