ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: KIND Seeking Seasoned Legal Professional for Leadership Expansion! Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is a national leader in unaccompanied child (UAC) migrant and refugee issues. Launched in 2008, KIND is dedicated to a world in which children's rights and well-being are protected as they migrate alone in search of safety. Through a proven model and innovative partnerships, KIND staff and our pro bono attorney partners at law firms, corporations, and law schools nationwide represent unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children in their deportation proceedings by providing high quality legal services. Together, we ensure that no child stands in court alone.KIND is expanding its Legal Services Management Team with the addition of a Senior Director for Legal Strategy. Based in our DC Headquarters, the Senior Director reports to the Vice President for Legal Services and will lead a team of legal experts focusing on: impact litigation support activities; removal defense and appellate strategies to meet the current challenging legal and policy environment; design and implementation of national legal training and technical assistance programming; contributing expertise to KIND's advocacy and policy activities; and management of KIND's mobile legal response team.We are searching for a dedicated individual with a passion and commitment for uniting their talent and expertise with the growing needs of unaccompanied migrant children navigating the US immigration system alone.
