AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Program Chief Architect. This position will split its time between the customer facility in Washington DC and our corporate office in Chantilly, VA (40/60). Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities The Chief Engineer will work to understand customer needs, validate solutions, and define and create the architectural depictions and documents to ensure seamless deployment and address all customer priorities, including performance, functionality, quality, Section 508 compliance, ease of use, and security considerations. The Chief Engineer will provide technical expertise, direction, and leadership to develop and communicate the program vision. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Lead development operations and maintenance and enhancement efforts for a team of DevSecOps professionals while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure cross functionality of new enhanced components and additions to the platform Define architectures that provide security, scalability, fault tolerance, and optimal performance Proactively support each team with managing and prioritizing backlogs according to business value, complexity, and expectations Generate project basis of estimates for functional and nonfunctional requirements (eg, performance, scalability, sustainability and maintainability) Implement DevOps practices and technologies to include Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Automated Testing, and Configuration Management/Versioning Write product specifications and design documentation for system components, organizing review and/or release of documentation as required Ensure product release readiness for customers and end users Support development and test teams in acceptance testing, Section 508 Compliance, troubleshooting, load testing, capacity planning, and performance tuning as required Create and maintain documentation of stakeholder needs, visualizations, stories, and other sources of requirements information for functional and non-functional requirements Provide senior level architecture support for the Advanced Technology Team by assisting with business/technical needs (Corporate Initiatives, Architecture Review Board, etc.) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific or technical discipline. An additional six (6) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education. Twelve (12) years technical architecture experience, including a variety of programming languages, platforms, and operating systems Possess AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification Experience with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, React.js and .NET Experience with API development and management Knowledge and experience with tools for Agile and SecDevOps (eg, AWS, Azure, Jenkins, Docker, Kuebernetes, GitHub, etc.) Ability to lead technical professionals in a highly collaborative, team-based environment Hands-on experience developing or customizing enterprise-level software solutions Extensive knowledge of and experience with software development lifecycle and processes, specifically in an Agile, SCRUM environment, including development tools such as JIRA Ability to facilitate and coordinate efforts with key government and non-government stakeholders Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Experience must also include: Significant knowledge and or experience with DoD and VA infrastructure and software development Intermediate technical knowledge of information security concepts and technologies Familiarity with risk management and a proven track record in successful project execution Proven leadership ability Self-starter that can work under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment Ability to travel between DC and Chantilly, VA on a regular basis, splitting time 40% in DC and 60% in Chantilly, VA Ability to obtain a Public Trust EEO Statement AbleVets LLC appreciates your interest in our company as a place of employment.
