This IT Development Manager position is in the Development Factory Group in Enterprise BTO. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that interacts with all areas of Freddie Mac's business and provides excellent experience and knowledge across the IT spectrum. Our team is made up of talented individuals who thrive in a challenging work environment and enjoy utilizing their problem-solving skills. The role will act as a Lead on projects, providing technical guidance and oversight to project execution team. The position will also ensure alignment between project activities and accepted scope and negotiate with the business, vendors and other stakeholders on changes to scope. This role will own full end-to-end delivery of software products and will also be responsible for managing team members of varying professional level.

Key Expectations:
  • Build strong partnerships with the business and across IT to help inform strategic decisions as well as drive tactical implementations.
  • Very strong communication skills, you will be responsible for interfacing and influencing with the business lines as well as others across IT.
  • Build and run a team that prides itself of the craftmanship of their code.
  • Ability to work well with the business and people with varying degrees of technical expertise.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment, flexibility to work extended hours and weekends
  • Responsible for leading an Initiative or a large and complex project or a portfolio of large projects.
  • Attract, recruit, retain, and develop top talent. Provides direct supervision to all levels of a development team, responsible for their career development, performance management, coaching and mentoring
  • Act as an agent for change regarding the new technologies and tools, promote top code quality by leading design and code reviews, and solve challenging issues
  • Strong leadership, Relationship/Customer Management, and deep understanding of end-to-end software development and support processes.
  • Develop communication plans and effectively communicate in both verbal and written form
  • Proficiency & experience utilizing methodologies (SDLC, AGILE, EDM, etc..)
    Work and collaborate across teams


Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, Relationship/Customer Management, and deep understanding of end-to-end software development and support processes.
  • Develop communication plans and effectively communicate in both verbal and written form
    Proficiency & experience utilizing methodologies (SDLC, AGILE, EDM, etc.)
  • Work and collaborate across teams and hold their team accountable for strong performance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • Typically has 8-10 years related experience and 2+ years management experience.


Preferred Skills

  • Financial services and/or mortgage industry experience
  • Prior or current hands-on code development & implementation experience
  • Experience managing software development teams
