- If you are newly hired, the documentation you present for purposes of completing the Department Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 on your entry-on-duty date will be verified through the DHS "E-VERIFY" system. Federal law requires the use of E-VERIFY to confirm the employment eligibility of all new hires. Under this system, the new hire is required to resolve any identified discrepancies as a condition of continued employment.

- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. Failure to successfully meet these requirements could lead to adverse action proceedings including possible termination.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

Time in grade:
Applicants must meet one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-13 grade level for consideration for the GS-14 grade level.)

For the GS-13 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-14 level that demonstrates:

- Experience with managing, identifying, distributing, and balancing workload, and tracking the status and progress of work, and execute day-to-day branch operations involving significant resources.

- Knowledge of major interrelationships between agency programs, contractors, subcontractors and vendors to identify and solve critical operating problems affecting branch missions.

- Experience on resolving and making decisions on work problems presented by upper management.

- Experience conducting interviews and recommending selections, making changes,or approving non-supervisory sections.

-Knowledge of Agency equal opportunity and civil rights policies, goals, and objectives in performing his/her duties and responsibilities.
