Program Qualification Requirements:
1. You must be currently enrolled and in a continuing degree program during the course of the internship, or accepted for enrollment, in a qualifying educational institution on a full-time basis, as defined by your program. Your course of study should be in the field of statistics, or directly related field, as stated in the education section of this announcement.
2. You must be in good academic standing throughout your college attendance, and have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA overall. In your field of study, you must also have at least a 2.5 in all course work.
Basic Qualification Requirements:
To qualify at the GS-5 level, you must show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 or equivalent level in the Federal service. Typically we would find this experience in clerical work such as: office work which involved answering inquiries regarding basic work and directing callers or visitors; preparing correspondence and a variety of documents using computer software; organizing and maintaining records and ordering office supplies. Your resume must clearly document this experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You MUST submit a copy of your transcript if you want to substitute your education for experience. If you claim qualifications based on education, and do not submit a transcript, your education will not be used in making a qualification determination and you may be found "not qualified".
Qualifying Education for Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - business administration, economics, marketing, finance, or other fields directly related to this position.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the education requirements, if it has been certified. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
