    You will be required to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance in order to perform the following; 

    • As a security operations specialist, the incumbent will participate in the Commission’s collaboration and cooperation with the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) in analyzing and reducing cyber threats, vulnerabilities, receiving and evaluating cyber threat warning information, and coordinating incident response activities.

    • The incumbent will also participate in classified meetings at the TS/SCI level with the White House National Security Staff, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Department of Treasury, various components within DHS including but not limited to National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC), FBI and the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJTF) in exploring cyber threats impacting the Commission.

    • Cyber security is a top priority of the Commission and the collaboration with the various intelligence agencies and DHS is intended to be an ongoing activity. DHS requires a Top Secret security clearance for persons reviewing information collected by US-CERT, NCCIC and Einstein’s incoming flow data.  In most cases DHS will share threat intelligence and indicators of compromise through classified meetings held in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), which requires a TS/SCI security clearance. 

    • Additionally, DHS holds monthly classified meeting where classified information is shared regarding threat actors and actions that may impact the Federal government in general and the CFTC in specific.

    CT-13 Level: To qualify for the CT-13 level you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS/CT-12 level).  Specialized experience is defined that through which one has gained a knowledge of information security theories and concepts, practices, and the total infrastructure protection environment sufficient to develop information security policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, services, and data.  Experience using knowledge of system, network, and service security certification and accreditation requirements and processes and knowledge of Federal information systems security protocols in order to manage an information security program.  Experience using knowledge of enterprise IT architecture in order to address information security requirements and implement security controls and risk mitigation measures.

    The following certifications are highly desired:

    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) 
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)

    Relocation. Relocation expenses will not be paid.
