"Assistant/Associate Professor, Computational and Data Sciences

The George Mason University, Department of Computational and Data Science in the College of Science invites applications for full-time term faculty position at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning in August 2019. Responsibilities: The selected finalist will teach courses in data science, computational science, and computational social science at the undergraduate and graduate levels commensurate with the college's workload policy. The successful candidate will also be expected to significantly contribute to the development of the CDS undergraduate curriculum. Candidates with experience in R, Matlab, Python, and SQL (or similar) and in teaching courses in data science, modeling, simulation, and computational social science are particularly encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications: * Candidates must have an earned PhD in computational science, data science, or a related field before the start date of the position; * Experience teaching courses associated with data science and computational science; and * Possess a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience or ability to teach multiple courses in data science, computational science, and computational social science; and * Experience in developing on-line courses, integrating course material to degree pathways, and in management of undergraduate senior projects.
