Open-Rank Tenure-Line Faculty, Operations Management The Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) area of the School of Business at George Mason University invites applications for multiple open-rank tenure-line faculty positions in Operations Management beginning Fall 2019. These positions are full-time with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities will vary with rank, but for all ranks will include research publications in top-tier academic journals, and teaching courses in undergraduate and graduate programs. The teaching load for this position is determined according to the School's workload policy, which specifies an initial load of 3 courses/year for candidates with fresh PhDs and highly productive senior researchers. Additional responsibilities include service to the ISOM Area, the School of Business, the University, the profession, and interfacing with the business community.
Required Qualifications: • Earned Ph.D. (or close to completion) in Operations Management/Supply Chain Management or a closely related field prior to the Fall semester start date in 2019. For doctoral students, there must be clear evidence of completing the PhD degree by the Fall semester start date in 2019. • Record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with an appointment for the appropriate rank, including evidence of potential for publishing in top-tier academic journals. • Evidence of effective teaching or the potential to effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. • Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to work well with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications: • Candidates with research interests that align with current Operations Management faculty, such as service operations, sustainable operations, innovation, new product/service development, project management, and supply chain management, will be viewed favorably. While all research methodologies are welcome, candidates with an empirical research background/training will be preferred. • For candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level, evidence of teaching custom executive education will be viewed favorably.
ISOM Area: The ISOM area consists of 13 OM and MIS tenure-track faculty members, and nine term faculty members. ISOM faculty have publications in top-tier academic journals, and have won several college-and university-level teaching awards. They also serve in editorial roles across leading academic journals in their disciplines.
