  • To qualify for the GS-06: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Performing bulk compounding pharmaceutical prescriptions which may require making adjustments in amounts of ingredients and solution concentrations for special orders; performing sterile solution operations for pharmaceutical equipment and assuring adherence to sterile procedures; reading, properly labeling, and dispensing individual prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy policies and limitations; and obtaining, counting or pouring/placing correct amounts of medication, in appropriate container(s).

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    • This position is designated as an "emergency essential" position and the selected candidate will be considered an "emergency essential" employee and will be required to be available, ready, willing, and able to report for duty under all circumstances (e.g., inclement weather, government closings and holidays, lapses in appropriations, non-emergency and emergency situations) for operation 24 hours a day and 365 days per year coverage.
