  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 46 level expert within 6 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cybersecurity (CS) certification or academic degree from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix in SECNAV M-5239.2 within 6 months of hire date or 12 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to hold and maintain appropriate Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) certificate(s) for this position, per SECNAV M-5239.2. Will participate in 40 hours of continuous learning annually, per SECNAVINST 1543.2.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may be subject to random counterintelligence polygraphs, per OPNAVINST 5510.165.
  • This position has an IT Position Level IT-I designation and performs a critical-sensitive function in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30.
  • This position has an Information Assurance (IA) Duty code of Primary (25-40 hours).
  • NH-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band (NH-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting a full range of project management functions from planning through evaluation and reporting to develop contingency and recovery plans AND redesign changes in network technologies or requirements in order to manage IT network architecture and infrastructure. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
    1. Attention to Detail - Managing domain name services; Consolidating regional networks; Identifies and controls all LAN hardware and software configuration; Coordinating network implementation planning.
    2. Customer Service - Provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems; Providing intranet, Internet, or extranet gateways.
    3. Oral Communication - Provide technical advice and consultation to LAN administrator; Recommend actions to management to avert future challenges to the integrity and availability of the network.
    4. Problem Solving - Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; Develop technical standards and procedures for LAN development, implementation and management; Evaluates overall LAN performance against relevant standards; Evaluating and defining infrastructure requirements.

    NH-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band (NH-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating IT network systems including performance, security and cost to develop plan and design for network modification and enhancement AND recommend solutions to enterprise IT requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
    1. Attention to Detail - Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers and switches; Monitoring network capacity and performance; Developing plans and designs for network modifications and enhancements; Reviews proposed applications for compatibility and interoperability.
    2. Customer Service - Coordinates installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning of the LAN; Analyzes systems malfunctions and implements necessary corrective actions; Installing network software fixes and upgrades.
    3. Oral Communication - Liaison with clients on all matters related to network operations and support; Prepare and present reports; Participate in the IT capital planning process.
    4. Problem Solving - Analyzing and defining network requirements; Conduct analyses and recommend resolution of complex issues affecting network services; Evaluates the effectiveness of current network systems; Evaluate and recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to deliver network services.
