Multimedia Producer - School of Foreign Service (SFS)

The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) , founded in 1919, is a premier school of international affairs. At Georgetown's Washington, D.C., and Qatar campuses, SFS provides a rigorous education grounded in both theory and practice while instilling the Jesuit values of service.

A key member of the SFS Communications team, the Multimedia Producer coordinates and executes the production of various forms of marketing content for the SFS' digital platforms. The ideal candidate is, first and foremost, a skilled storyteller who brings the technical expertise to shoot photography and create videos, animations, graphics and other multimedia content to engage SFS audiences in the digital space. Duties include but are not limited to:

Multimedia Production and Management
  • Manage the planning and execution of a coordinated calendar of multimedia content designed to engage prospective SFS undergraduate and graduate students, parents and alumni and the international relations community.
  • Shoot basic photography to support content needs including student activities and campus events.
  • Produce videos for the web and social media including conceptualization, storyboarding/scripting, logistical coordination, technical production of video and audio, shooting, interviewing, and editing.
  • Create GIFs, motion graphics/animations and static content for mobile consumption on social platforms.
  • Measure impact of multimedia content to improve engagement.
  • Manage and facilitate access to digital assets.
  • Maintain videography and photography equipment and recommend necessary equipment and software as needs (and technology) change.
  • Hire and supervise student employees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Occasional evening and weekend work required for events.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience, and experience producing engaging video and digital content for social media (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook) as well as for websites, events, and email campaigns required.
  • Excellent photography, videography and video editing skills, with demonstrated ability to construct a cohesive narrative.
  • The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who understands how to connect with audiences using compelling images and video, and has a commitment to collaboration along with initiative to serve as the primary SFS video resource with the help of student workers.
  • Experience with digital editing and retouching software platforms (e.g. Adobe suite).
  • Familiarity with audio recording and editing, graphic design and layout software platforms and best practices (Adobe suite).
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver within time constraints.
  • Interest in foreign affairs/international relations a plus.
