The Automation Manager position will part of the Technology Automation department in the Information Technology division at Freddie Mac. We are seeking a technical leader highly skilled in automation frameworks, DevOps methodologies or SRE practices, Agile practices, and with the ability to lead teams effectively.The incumbent will define the parameters for infrastructure automation, including working with Architecture to select tools, design solutions, and create and enforce automation standards best practices. Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems and as a counselor to management and customers on advanced technical solutions. Will be responsible for team performance management. May have budget responsibilities.This team is modernizing how infrastructure and applications are deployed, maintained, and monitored. Our goal is to equip our operations teams with timely information on availability, performance, and capacity for applications and infrastructure across Freddie Mac. Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage diverse teams while continuously improving process and technology
* Ensure the team is operating in the most effective way possible and have the appropriate level of skills and resources to be successful
* Ability to work across the organization with minimal guidance to gain cooperation, promote Automation services, and communicate to business and leadership

* Establish appropriate metrics and reporting on availability, performance, capacity, growth, and utilization
* Develop a roadmap for Automation services
* Contribute to the Automation COE objectives around providing Automation as a Service

Technical Skills
* Experience of developing full stack applications that are use-case and test-case driven
* Skill in design and implementation of enterprise REST APIs
* Experience in implementation and managing ELK stack
* Proven track record of Python development, event-driven programming, and with working knowledge of at least one Python framework such as Django or Flask
* Experience in implementation of Ansible for configuration and automation or similar tools
* Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
* Understanding of differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
* Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
* Participate in technology assessment; design based on requirements and architectural guidelines, prototype if necessary, and implement reliable solutions
* Ensure applications have high availability and disaster recovery in place per design

Change Agent
* Champion technology and tools change that improves delivery processes
* Act as an agent for change to reflect the latest standards in new technologies and tools
* Serve as an enterprise subject matter expert (SME)


* 8-10 years of elaborating and relevant Information Technology experience
* 2+ years of management skills with a passion for leading and developing staff
* In depth experience designing solutions that are: secure, resilient, scalable, transformative
* Fluent in Unix shell and other modern scripting languages
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, any related field, or equivalent experience
* Strong work ethic, self-motivated, independent, and works with minimal direction
