    APPLYING FOR THE GS-12:

    Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

    Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    • Experience producing policy-relevant analytic assessments for senior level foreign policymakers based on all-source intelligence relating to the leaders, institutions, decision dynamics, and policy trends in North Korea’s political system as they bear on U.S. national security and foreign policy interests.
    • Experience coordinating the production of analytic assessments based on all-source information relating to the leaders, institutions, decision dynamics, and policy trends in North Korea’s political system as they bear on U.S. national security and foreign policy interests.
    • Experience preparing and delivering oral presentations for senior-level foreign policy makers based on all-source intelligence relating to the leaders, institutions, decision dynamics, and policy trends in North Korea’s political system as they bear on U. S. national security and foreign policy interests.

    There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.

    • Experience identifying critical policy-relevant issues and producing policy-relevant analytic assessments for senior-level foreign policy makers based on all-source information relating to the leaders, institutions, decision dynamics, and policy trends in North Korea’s political system as they bear on U. S. national security and foreign policy interests.
    • Experience coordinating, and in some cases leading, the production of analytic assessments based on all-source intelligence relating to the leaders, institutions, decision dynamics, and policy trends in North Korea’s political system as they bear on U. S. national security and foreign policy interests.
    • Experience identifying critical policy-relevant issues and preparing and delivering oral briefings to senior-level foreign policy makers based on all-source intelligence relating to the leaders, institutions, decision dynamics, and policy trends in North Korea’s political system as they bear on U. S. national security and foreign policy interests.

    There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.

    • Knowledge of the realm of Foreign policy / international affairs.
    • Ability to analyze and evaluate information derived from a variety of sources.
    • Ability to provide advice, guidance, and consultation based on results of analyses.
    • Knowledge of all-source intelligence analysis.
