    This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) trace leaks, pinpoint the leak area, and remove old roofing to get to source of leak. 2) Repair or replace roof decking, beams or joists. 3) apply coating materials (for example, paint, varnish, lacquer, shellac, epoxy resin, and teflon) on wood, metal, glass, synthetic, concrete, and other surfaces. 4) apply coating work with brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other related methods and techniques, on the insides and outsides of buildings, aircraft, vessels, mobile equipment, fittings, furnishings, machinery, and other surfaces. 5)determining, planning, and laying out the work to be done from sketches and blueprints.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent works on ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and where parts of the system may be in hard-to-reach places. This requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in uncomfortable positions. Work will progress through all weather conditions and it is the responsibility of the incumbent to work effectively and safely during these times.

    PHYSICAL EFFORT:
    Physical effort is moderate to heavy and includes: prolonged standing, climbing ladders and scaffolds, working in cramped and awkward positions, lifting and bending while using hand and power tools. Position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and setting up of tools, and equipment and parts that may weigh over 50 pounds. Weight lifted does not usually exceed 50 pounds; however, s/he may be required to have other employees assist if lifting more than 50 pounds.
