To qualify for the Purchasing Agent, PG -1105-5, you must meet the following requirements:
To Minimally qualify for the Purchasing Agent, PG-1105-05 level,
A. I possess one year of general experience at the PG-04 or equivalent grade level or higher. Specialized Experience include:
- Experience utilizing local and nonlocal sources of supply/basic purchasing methods;
- Experience grouping like items for telephone bidding or written request for quotation;
- Experience interpreting detailed specifications and explaining requirement to potential bidders;
- Experience applying procurement and Federal Acquisition Regulations; and
- Experience purchasing a variety of items and services using various established contracts or agreements.
C. I have the specialized experience described in A, but less than 1 year; and I have less than 4 years of education above high school as described in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet and the total is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e.-beyond the second year) by 120. Add the 2 percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 year of education beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Note: you must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application package.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy.
