    Applicants MUST meet the Basic Requirements below:

    Education: Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree: major in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.  This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

    NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.

    Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.

     IN ADDITION to meeting the basic requirements above, you MUST have at least one year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position; is related to the work of the position; is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service; and demonstrates the following:

    • Specialized year experience with initiating, developing, managing, and implementing epidemiology, risk assessment, risk management, and risk communication programs and policies.
    • Experience in designing, implementing, and conducting health impact assessments to quantify risks and address policy needs for a large organization.
    • Experience in developing science-based protocols to implement actions during extreme environmental events or health related outbreaks in international settings.
