Associate Director, Class Programs & Reunion Campaigns - Office of Advancement

The sixteen person CPRC team establishes class fundraising goals, recruits and develops volunteers, identifies high potential donors, solicits leadership gifts, hosts world-class signature events (Homecoming Weekend and Reunion Weekend), and engages alumni and students in fundraising for Georgetown.

The Assistant Director manages class engagement and giving strategies for five undergraduate alumni classes. He/she will plan certain Reunion Weekend programs, and assist in building reunion strategy and engagement analytics. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal skills, exemplary communication and time management skills, attention to detail, and an interest in higher education or non-profit philanthropy. This position reports to the Director of Class Programs and Reunion Campaigns. This individual will be using phone, written correspondence, and personal interactions that will occur with University staff as well as external constituents. Duties for this role include but are not limited to:

Strategic Design and Implementation of Reunion Campaigns
  • Managing the development of multi-year strategies focused on engagement, fundraising, communications, and volunteer training and retention for each class.
  • Identifying, recruiting, training and motivating class committee members to expand the pool of volunteers, with a focus on future leadership progression and development.
  • Providing day-to-days tactical support for class committees, including management of the assignment process and regular pro-active contact with committee members about progress with their assignments and outcome of solicitations.
  • Monitoring the quality of solicitations and ensuring the partnership of key volunteers with key prospects.
  • Capturing and reporting metrics pertaining to assigned classes.
  • Organizing and coordinating fundraising efforts for each class by engaging and supporting the University's leading volunteers and donors.


Strategic Design and Implementation of Reunion Programs, Events, Communication and Initiatives
  • Collaborating with the team to research, conceptualize, and present Reunion Weekend concepts for programming.
  • Managing and implementing select Reunion Weekend programs and events, featuring prominent alumni and faculty.
  • Assisting with the marketing of these reunion events, with a focus on strategic partnership with on-campus departments.


Special Projects
  • Developing and managing other projects to enhance the mission and goals of the CPRC team, with focus on engagement and benchmarking.
  • Attending Office of Advancement, GUAA, and other Georgetown meetings.
  • Participating as a volunteer in Office of Advancement events.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3--5 years of professional experience, preferably in a development/fundraising environment
  • Supervisory and project/program experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of volunteer management experience
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written skills
  • Ability to plan, market, and implement events, ideally multi-day events or large scale events
  • Extremely well organized and detail oriented, with ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and consistently meet all deadlines and goals.
  • Ability to manage and motivate volunteers with proven experience developing deep, lasting relationships
  • Thrives in a fast paced team environment focused on continual strategy development; ability to assimilate data, exercise sound judgment and discretion, and work independently.
  • A proven ability to meet or exceed goals
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at once with minimal supervision
  • Intellectual curiosity with an ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Desire to contribute to and participate in the mission of Georgetown University
  • Professional and collegial demeanor and ability to exercise diplomacy, judgment and tact; trustworthiness in handling confidential matters.
  • Comfort with understanding and performing semi-complex metrics and analysis
