What Are the Most Important Things This Person Needs to Accomplish to Succeed?
  • Develop and drive a strategy for required compliance and safety training for employees across the growing and evolving enterprise
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in the business to elicit and respond to compliance and safety training needs
  • Build relationships with vendors and industry partners to stay ahead of changes to compliance and safety needs
  • Improve the process of keeping compliance and safety training up-to-date as requirements and legislation change
  • Create a process for reporting on the company's success with compliance and safety training that leads to increased employee engagement
  • Gain the confidence of business leaders that required training is appropriately balanced with client and business demands

Compliance and Safety are at the core of how Dewberry protects its clients and the company. The Compliance and Safety Training Specialist role focuses on supporting Dewberry's compliance and safety training needs. This includes working with internal stakeholders, developing courses, managing external vendors, researching training requirements from regulators and clients, and managing of records in the learning management system (LMS). This position requires the ability to fill multiple roles in support of compliance and safety learning events across the entire enterprise. It also requires the position to self-set priorities based on the needs of executives, internal customers, and the Manager of Training and Development.

This role requires a love of learning, a passion for tackling a wide variety of projects, and a desire to help others succeed.

Responsibilities

Course Design/Development Responsibilities:
  • Helps determine learning needs and develop and roll-out courses related to compliance and safety needs
  • Manages third-party vendors related to compliance and safety needs
  • Ensures internally-built and third-party compliance and safety courses reflect regulatory, client, and internal needs as required

LMS (Dewberry Talent Center) Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the Dewberry Talent Center super-user for the Training and Development team
  • Serves as a consultant with people throughout the business to help them implement compliance and safety training programs that use the Dewberry Talent Center
  • Use the Dewberry Talent Center to manage and track compliance and safety courses
  • Tests and configures SCORM-complaint and AICC-compliant e-Training compliance and safety courses

Reporting/Records Management Responsibilities
  • Generates training completion, evaluation, and other training reports for management as requested
  • Ensures data integrity of LMS records, including enrollments, manager approvals, user accounts/profiles, user security roles, and transcripts related to compliance and safety


Required Skills & Required Experience

Preferred Skills and Related Experience:
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, particularly with remote stakeholders
  • Experience designing and documenting processes
  • Experience with course development
  • Ability to balance multiple and often competing priorities from a diverse stakeholder group
  • Experience working with Articulate Storyline or other development tools to build SCORM/AICC compliant courseware
  • Expertise using a LMS to manage instructor-led, virtual, and e-Training events
  • Experience organizing, setting-up, and supporting instructor-led training events


Required Skills and Related Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years working in a training and development capacity
