The American Enterprise Institute seeks a director of media operations. The principal objective of this position is to create a comprehensive media strategy for AEI and its scholars and to enhance AEI's mission by promoting the dissemination of the work of AEI scholars among journalists, various media outlets, and the general public.

The person holding this position will work with policy scholars, executives, and support staff to devise media marketing plans for the Institute's research work. This includes implementing and evaluating new publicity tools, training and managing staff to support media efforts, and developing and improving existing metrics to measure success. The person selected for this position will report to AEI's vice president of communications and will oversee the public affairs department and the video production staff.

Coordinating AEI marketing strategies with the in-house video production team, the website editors, and the social media team would also be required.

Required skills include excellent writing, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational abilities. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with public policy issues and a variety of political media outlets, including newspapers, news television, radio, and political blogs.
