This position is part of a team of software trainers and process analysts who analyze, design and execute a variety of projects to support process improvement initiatives, particularly ones related to automation. Projects span a variety of functional areas, such as finance, human resources, safety, rail and bus operations, and system maintenance. The team plays an important role in facilitating communication between internal customers and IT, and team members must have the skills and experience to promote this objective.
The successful candidate will work directly with business process owners, end-users, and management to design process improvements, gather requirements for automation, and develop and deliver training programs that integrate process information with application skill-building. She/he will understand the fundamentals of process and requirements analysis, be a quick learner of business functions and procedures, and have demonstrated skill in designing, developing, and delivering Instructor-Led-Training that reflects real-life work scenarios as closely as possible. The candidate is required to work independently coordinating projects and will work at multiple locations to train and interface with internal customers.
Experience collaborating with business SMEs to develop e-learning materials according to e-learning best practices is highly desired, especially using tools such as Articulate and Captivate. Experience maintaining and managing training instances/environments is also highly desired.

Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, humanities, computer science, business administration, or related disciplines and a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in software training and related information technology roles, such as requirements analysis, end-user documentation, and deployment. Significant experience supporting software training, developing software training tools, and performing related IT responsibilities for a specific functional area such as Human Resources, Administration, Finance, Customer Service, Case Management, Asset Management, Transit Planning and Scheduling, and Safety.
Or, an equivalent combination of post-high school education and a minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in software training and related information technology roles, such as requirements analysis, end-user documentation, and deployment, plus at least six months formal training in one or more of those skills areas or in teaching skills. Significant experience supporting software training, developing software training tools, and performing related IT responsibilities for a specific functional area such as Human Resources, Administration, Finance, Customer Service, Case Management, Asset Management, Transit Planning and Scheduling, and Safety.
Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.
This is a professional, technical and administrative position involving information technology management for a broad range of functional areas within the Authority. The employee serves as a software training and requirements analyst who has significant responsibility for ensuring the successful implementation of software applications to achieve business process improvements defined by Authority managers and executives. In this role, the employee designs, directs, and conducts large-scale software training programs and coordinates closely with IT Department managers and developers. In support of these objectives, the employee also performs business process and data analysis to establish the context for software deployment and validate the software design. The employee is a functional generalist who can support work in a variety of areas, such as administrative and financial processes, service delivery processes, and maintenance processes, and has special expertise in the area of software training.
Consults with Authority managers in a variety of functional areas about ideas and plans for process improvement.
Assists Authority managers and teams in the analysis and documentation of business processes and related software requirements.
Identifies IT and other tasks needed to support process improvements and communicates those requirements to the Chief, IT/BPR and other responsible managers.
Coordinates with IT managers and developers to ensure IT is aligned with the business objectives of Authority managers. Communicates business issues, changes and decisions to the Chief, IT/BPR and other IT managers and developers.
Creates analytic products such as flowcharts, swim-lane diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, truth tables, and software requirements documentation.
Leads and facilitates meetings to explore, plan, and specify business changes and related IT requirements.
Creates and maintains business process documentation.
Provides expertise in the areas of software training, software deployment and roll-out to ensure acceptance of new software applications.
Oversees the work of other software trainers and documentation specialists.
Becomes expert in the functionality of application software; designs software training programs for end-users and other trainers; creates, maintains, and manages training schedules; designs and creates training tools such as instructor guides, student guides, and user manuals; conducts software training; trains other trainers.
Coordinates with software development teams throughout the development, deployment and production lifecycle. Communicates customer concerns, suggests design changes, monitors the reception of software products and keeps the Chief, IT/BPR and other responsible managers informed of progress.
Coordinates with managers and administrators to schedule students and classrooms.
