Clinical Research Nurse 1 - Division of Infectious Diseases

The Division of Infectious Diseases at Georgetown University Medical Center's prevailing mission is to achieve excellence and distinction in teaching, research and the provision of patient care. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Nurse to join our team.

Clinical Research Nurse must be able to manage and coordinate complex studies in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Monitoring and screening patient and administering investigational therapies for HIV/AIDS clinical trials.
  • Providing professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices.
  • Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
  • Maintain data files including IRB correspondence with referring physicians.

These functions are performed in accordance with Georgetown University Medical Center's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practices to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • 3 years minimum experience in clinical research, and/or public health research
  • 1 year previous outpatient experience
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to a myriad of issues related to HIV infection is critical.
  • High level of clinical skills and ability to make decisions in response to unique clinical situations
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations is preferred
