Requirements

Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) , part of Georgetown University Medical Center , seeks to prevent, treat and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community - guided by the principle of cura personalis , "care for the whole person." The Administrative Assistant II assists in the day to day operations of the office, coordinating the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) Consortium Committee with Hackensack University Medical Center's John Theurer Cancer Center (HUMC JTCC) meetings which require administrative support mainly for philanthropic activities with the goal of raising $1 million per year to support joint Research Projects and other cancer-related activities. S/he serves as back-up to the Administrator for Office Operations in the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and coordinates all Office of the Director activities related to the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Network. S upporting of the Office of the Director, the Administrative Assistant II has duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate all Office of the Director activities related to the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Network.
  • Coordinate the Cancer Center Steering Committee ("CCSC") meetings, chaired by the LCCC Director and comprised of the following additional members: the Director of the JTCC, two other Georgetown representatives selected by the LCCC Director, and two other HMH representatives selected by the CEO of HMH or his/her designee.
  • Answer and routine incoming telephone calls, taking and delivering messages in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare and maintain office correspondence and letters of support, coordinate submission of faculty scientific award nominations, and prepare appointment and promotion letters for faculty.
  • Maintain the Director's curriculum vitae in GU Professional and general formats, as well as his BioSketch and biography.
  • Monitor and process the renewal of the Director's licenses and certifications, ensuring all licenses and certifications are current.
  • Process the Director's study section and general conflict of interest and confidentiality documentation.
  • Coordinate the annual faculty evaluations for the Director and the annual orientation for Lombardi's new faculty.
  • Reconcile and process the Director's expenditures, reconcile the Director's cost expenditures via credit card, and process reimbursements for the Director and visiting faculty including new vendor registration.
  • Monitor journal subscriptions and renewals.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's preferred
  • A minimum of 2-4 years' experience
  • Experience with Google Apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Forms), PDFs, and other experiences with websites and cloud-based applications.
  • Mac OS experience with a technological know-how
  • Experience with planning travel is helpful
