Program Lead, Refuse to Be a Victim
SUMMARY: Assist with the development and delivery of the NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® [RTBAV] Program. Knowledge of and support for the National Rifle Association Community Outreach Programs and overall NRA mission is required.
1. Manage, within departmental guidelines, NRA’s Refuse To Be A Victim co-ed personal safety program. Administration includes maintaining an accurate instructor database; updating/revising program materials, overseeing inventory stock, opening/promoting/closing RTBAV seminars, Instructor Development Workshops [IDWS] and Regional Counselor Training Courses, computer data entry, preparing and adhering to program budgets, development and implementation of program growth strategies, program status reporting, and conducting training sessions.
2. Promote, within departmental guidelines, the RTBAV program at conventions, conferences, special events and via written articles and stories for NRA publications and other external publications, magazines and newsletters as opportunities arise. Promote RTBAV scheduled seminars and Instructor Development Workshops on NRA’s website and Official Journals in an accurate and timely manner.
3. Serve as the primary contact to RTBAV instructors and the general public through phone and email. Provide support for RTBAV questions concerning the program and its seminars .
4. Conduct RTBAV seminars and Instructor Development Workshop at NRA’s Annual Meeting of Members and other assigned venues.
5. Continue to develop and administer the RTBAV on-line course. Maintain and develop new relationships with RTBAV on-line instructors with the intent of broadening the base of both on-line instructors and students.
6. Continue to develop and promote the Refuse To Be A Victim Collegiate course to law enforcement and campus personnel. Serve as the primary contact to course instructors and coordinate materials for their courses.
SCOPE: Interacts regularly with NRA staff, NRA members, NRA volunteers and the general public. Limited exposure to members of NRA’s Board of Directors. Position functions in a fast paced, detail oriented and time sensitive work environment with minimal direct supervision. Occasional national travel and weekend work required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College degree required. Marketing experience helpful. Experience in the shooting sports helpful.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused on the task at hand essential. Strong analytical and effective organizational skills required. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting set deadlines essential. Demonstrated ability to present material in an oral format to both small and large groups essential. Ability to motivate and supervise volunteer staff essential. Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint essential.
