Students Systems Reporting and Web Services Analyst - Office of the University Registrar (OUR)

The Students Systems, Reporting and Web Services Analyst will work within the framework of the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) to provide support to the daily administration of the systems team and will report directly to the deputy university registrar. The incumbent will work extensively on student data reporting. Additionally, this position will support the Deputy Registrar on special projects and regular operations as assigned and will participate in strategic planning and the direction of technology implementation. This position will assist in user acceptance testing, business process development, web site development, systems training and communications for the Office of the University Registrar. General Duties of the Students Systems Reporting and Web Services Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Supports the systems team with the testing and deployment of various applications and other enterprise level solutions.
  • Assists with the advanced troubleshooting of end-user support issues within the OUR office, develops end-user training for various functional groups within OUR and other departments within Georgetown University.
  • Interacts with external stakeholders and develop customized reports using Cognos.
  • Assists with the ticketing system in Blackboard for OUR.
  • Assists with processing new user access for various student systems.
  • Provides systems support to various units within OUR.
  • Assists with updating the OUR website.
  • Participates in executing user acceptance testing for all OUR systems.
  • Develops written documentation (standard operating procedures) and end user instructions.
  • Assists with management of strategic OUR projects.
  • Develops and maintains office communications via various channels and assists with system setup to support OUR operations.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Professional experience in higher education preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of FERPA regulations
  • Understanding of basic security structures within Banner
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Google products, SQL, and HTML
  • Demonstrate IT project management experience and knowledge of common administration tools and utilities
  • Knowledge of Cognos (or other BI application) and experience building and editing reports. Knowledge of student information systems (Banner preferred). May lead and provide functional guidance to lower level support employees
  • Serves as first point of contact for student data reporting
  • Experience with building and editing reports preferred
  • Incumbent must be able to demonstrate oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals within OUR and various colleges and departments within the university, be able to maintain professional working relationships
  • Must be a quick learner, self-driven, and have a can-do attitude
  • Ability to learn the university policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate high level of administrative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations. Works under general guidance/supervision
  • Other duties as assigned
