Project Coordinator - Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarships (CNDLS)

The Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS) is the center for teaching excellence and innovation at Georgetown University. CNDLS staff members, in addition to faculty and graduate affiliates, are engaged in advanced research on teaching practices, assessment techniques, instructional and learning design, media development, and technologies to enhance student learning. Whether rethinking course design, assessing curricula, or creating a dynamic digital archive, CNDLS works to align teaching practices with student engagement and learning. CNDLS is an integral part of Georgetown's efforts to rethink the Future(s) of Higher Education and the Center has recently developed Georgetown's new Master of Arts in Learning, Design and Technology , a program at the cutting edge of the future of innovations in teaching and learning in higher education.

CNDLS seeks to fill a full-time Project Coordinator position to support various programs and projects within the center. Working in an integrative capacity under the direction of senior program/project personnel, the Project Coordinator is responsible for organizing and facilitating project teams, coordinating team priorities and resources, event planning, implementation, budget tracking, project communications, and documentation. In addition, the Project Coordinator participates in the collection and organization of data to be used in CNDLS assessment and research projects. The Project Coordinator participates actively in communication efforts around the projects and programs he or she supports, including writing projects for promotion and reporting.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate, manage and track a variety of events for projects and programs.
  • Schedule and coordinate internal and external teams.
  • Manage project processes, records, and data collection.
  • Correspond with faculty to schedule meetings, answer program-related questions, coordinate paperwork, etc.
  • Develop and ensure workflows for smooth operation of multiple, ongoing projects in collaboration with project teams, business managers, and graduate students.
  • Participate in research and planning support for strategic project/program conversations.
  • Work closely with communications team to draft and finalize language for outward-facing communications around assigned projects.
  • Monitor and propose edits to project/program websites or other online presences.
  • Help coordinate social media or other outreach efforts around projects/programs.
  • Gather, double-check, and customize reports on project facts and figures as requested.
  • Support the development and implementation of student focus groups, interviews, online surveys, and data analysis related to assigned projects/programs.


The Project Coordinator will perform these responsibilities with a high degree of professionalism and navigate between team-oriented collaboration and independent work.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to five years relevant experience
  • Experience teaching and/or working in an educational setting
  • Highly organized and proven time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work across multiple projects with possible competing deadlines
  • Outstanding interpersonal and oral communication skills for working with students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of constituents
  • Possess strong writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Google Apps
  • Conscientious and positive approach in dynamic and busy work environment


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Event planning experience
  • Work experience in higher education environment
  • Awareness of current issues and debates in higher education, knowledge of literature on college teaching and learning a plus
  • Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies
