Requirements

The Georgetown Entrepreneurship team's mission is to create a culture of entrepreneurship throughout the Georgetown University community and to ensure that every graduate and undergraduate student has the opportunity to explore and experience what it means to be an entrepreneur. Through their efforts the department is able to make a lasting impact on tomorrow's leaders in business and entrepreneurship while helping students launch their own companies here on campus. The Program Manager supports the Georgetown Entrepreneurship leadership team with all administrative and operational tasks, specifically with the build-out and ongoing execution of new experiential learning opportunities, such as summer startup internships. S/he is also responsible for maintaining a regular and effective marketing and communications program, ensuring that printed materials, web content, the e-newsletter and other digital communications are updated in a timely fashion. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Program Manager has duties that include but are not limited to:

Operations
  • Provide management support for all day-to-day administrative and operational tasks for the Georgetown Entrepreneurship team.
  • Schedule and organize ongoing activities, including chalk talks, office hours, and faculty exchange lunches, arranging supplies, catering, and rooms as needed.
  • Maintain and update the Georgetown Entrepreneurship events calendar, managing the Georgetown Entrepreneurship mailbox.
  • Complete administrative tasks/paperwork related to the on-boarding of personnel, tracking hours in GMS.


Experiential Learning Outreach
  • Manage the internship page by posting new listings, monitoring results, removing old listings, and maintaining the employer and career center contact database.
  • Put together participant profiles for Experiential Learning in Entrepreneurship internships.
  • Follow-up with startups and businesses after selection to manage enrollment process and reimbursement.
  • Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and sustainability of the Experiential Learning in Entrepreneurship internship program.
  • Correspond and assist students with needs related to their placements.
  • Acts as a Lead for all HoyaGateway / Salesforce related development for proper tracking.


Marketing and communications
  • Create and maintain contact databases including the e-newsletter circulation list, competition judges/panelists, partner organizations, and club officers.
  • Edit and send weekly newsletters and special announcements, posting news and other relevant content to the website in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee social media outreach such as the startup blog and external articles, supporting student team leaders with promotion and marketing of major events.
  • Assist with the production of new printed materials, collateral and brochures as needed.


Budgeting and Expense Analysis
  • Provide regular budget updates and financial information to the team, including contracting, invoicing, reconciliation, and related duties.
  • Manage monthly cost center reconciliations, the budget for Georgetown Entrepreneurship, and contract submissions.
  • Serve as Requisitioner and Expense Preparer in GMS, processing invoices when needed.
  • Track donor pledges and gifts received with support of MSB Finance and Advancement teams.


Special Event Planning
  • Administer and organize all major events throughout the academic year, to include pitch competitions, guest speaker and networking events, and flagship events such as Entrepreneurship Day and Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge.
  • Lead and liaise with MSB events team on logistics such as reserving space, catering, photography, run of show, and managing volunteers.
  • Lead and liaise with MSB marketing/communications team on promotion of events, both pre and post, creating event RSVP pages and tracking responses.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 -3 years events management experience, budget management experience, and student programming experience
  • Knowledge of GMS Financial System or of a similar financial system
  • Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments
  • Excellent and diplomatic interpersonal and communication skills in person, by phone, and email
