Associate Director, MBA and McCourt Annual Fund - Office of Advancement

The Associate Director of the MBA & McCourt Annual Fund is responsible for assessing, developing and implementing a plan to secure current-use gifts from MBA and McCourt Public Policy School alumni (approximately 13,000 alumni total) through a comprehensive marketing plan that is rooted in data and analysis. and in alignment and coordinated closely with related major gift and alumni engagement programs. Presently these annual giving programs account for approximately $1M in revenue annually for these schools combined. To accomplish the above, this position designs and implements comprehensive annual giving programs to include direct marketing communications, Loyalty Society management, leadership annual giving planning, and volunteer management in tandem with communications and stewardship pieces directed toward donors and prospective donors to the two distinct degree granting schools. These efforts must be aligned and closely coordinated with related major gift and alumni relations programs for these academic programs. The associate director and their annual plan will focus on three central operating principles:
  • Retention & upgrading of current donors
  • Building the donor pool by increasing participation
  • Identifying and handing-off major gift prospects


Duties for the Associate Director include but are not limited to:

Strategy and Execution
  • Develops and follows a long term road map for creation and establishment of new annual giving program and create and execute annual business plan each fiscal year.
  • Develops and oversees for all communications and priority messaging for MBA and McCourt constituencies for annual giving activities including direct mail, phonathon, email, digital, reunion, and graduation class gift fundraising.
  • Monitors the progress of the annual fund dollars on a consistent basis, keeping key staff informed of progress, challenges and opportunities.
  • Monthly, Quarterly and as needed basis, reporting to internal partners and leaders on progress year to date and public presentations as necessary.
  • Perform market analysis and program evaluation to modify or develop long and short term goals.


Data Analytics and Reporting
  • Designs and manages the data reports and analysis for MBA and McCourt alumni giving with a specific eye on dollars raised, alumni donors, participation, pipeline creation and benchmarking for results. Weekly and monthly reporting on progress and information prepared for variety of public and internal uses.


Partnership Development for Program Outreach
  • Develops partnerships with central annual giving marketing team, MBA and McCourt alumni relations and development officers for the execution of Loyalty Society and Reunion efforts.


Fundraising Volunteer Management
  • Works with MBA and McCourt individual and groups of volunteers to deliver on aspects of annual plan, to include signatories for marketing pieces, reunion volunteers, graduating class gift student leaders and possible special interest group leaders (as agreed to) and alumni board volunteers for the purposes of outreach, solicitation and stewardship


Resource Management
  • Sets, manages and adheres to annual operating budget with periodic reporting on status.
  • Manages one student worker.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Four to Six years in a professional office environment, with at least three years of special emphasis on fundraising, direct marketing, communications, fundraising program development and volunteer management; or commensurate skills and experience
