Dewberry is currently seeking a Contracts Manager for its corporate office in Fairfax, VA. This position will provide contracting support to the various practice areas of the Dewberry enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Contracts, the selected candidate will review terms and conditions of all contract types, including commercial, international and public sector contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide contract management support throughout the enterprise. Contract Management includes the drafting, negotiation, administration, modification, termination, and close out of all company standard and nonstandard contracts, subcontracts, and agreements providing analysis of complex contracting issues, articulating these issues to Dewberry management and developing strategies for mitigating these risks for Dewberry.
  • Assist in the proposal development process, identifying issues and risks and proposing mitigation strategies to the required levels of management.
  • Prepare policies and guidelines in for compliance and contracting issues and initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of developments in contracting and communicates information to Dewberry business units.
  • Draft and negotiates contracts and subcontracts along with license agreements, data rights, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, joint venture agreements, and, etc.
  • Assist in audits, reviews and such special projects as required by senior management.
  • I nterface with internal customers such as project managers, and accounting and legal staff with focus on contract compliance, change order management, profitability analyses, risk assessment, intellectual property, joint venture, compliance and licensing issues.
  • Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
  • Develop and maintains strong positive relationships with internal and external Clients.
  • Assist in leading and developing other contracts personnel.
  • Support outreach activities within the Dewberry organization including conducting periodic training, and contributing to internal articles and notices.
  • Monitor Dewberry's compliance with Business Ethics and Contract Compliance Program.
  • Develop OCI mitigation plans and policies as needed.
  • Develop and monitors strategies for prudent subcontracting with special emphasis on small business and diversity subcontracting.
  • Prepare or reviews claims, bid protests, FOIA responses and disputes in coordination with the project managers and legal

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Graduation from a four year accredited college or university with a degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • JD a plus!
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, UCC and federal government contracting
  • 8 years solid, professional experience in government and commercial contracts negotiation administration, contracts management or contracts analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in Architect and Engineering contracting
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in contract interpretation, proposal preparation, claims, modifications, protests, nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements, intellectual property, and OCI mitigation
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Superior analytical and research skills
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated experience in resolving complex contractual problems
  • Experience using and managing within an electronic contract and document management system
  • Possess excellent business acumen
  • Experience supervising professional staff a plus
  • Infrequent travel required.
