  • You qualify for the GS-14 grade level (starting salary $114,590 if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level performing the following duties:

    BASIC REQUIREMENT

    1. Attention to Detail-conduct security system evaluation and audits to implement appropriate security measures;
    2. Customer Service- consult with customers to evaluate and provide oversight on system functional requirements;
    3. Oral Communication-communicate IT/cybersecurity policies and principals at all levels of the organization; and
    4. Problem Solving- identify security risks and recommending solutions to optimize IT and/or cybersecurity initiatives.AND

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Experience included supervisory discussions to develop assignment scope, possible approaches and stages of work. Specifically work was conducted independently, and provided expertise related to cybersecurity/information security in the following areas

    1. Subject matter expertise and direction towards intrusion detection and prevention solutions
    2. Broad organizational support for acquisitions, logistics, complex project scheduling and risk management processes;
    3. Support for the development of acquisition program documentation (i.e., Operational Requirements Documents, Test and Evaluation Master Plans, Acquisition Program Baselines, etc.) to support the Acquisition Lifecycle process; and
    4. Application of project management principles and methods to effectively manage enterprise-level cybersecurity IT programs.

    National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
