  • Must possess a four-year degree in engineering or architecture with extensive experience in the professional occupation and areas relating to facilities and/or infrastructure.
  • A current certificate of registration as a professional engineer issued by an appropriate licensing agency in one of the 50 states or U>S> territories is highly desirable.

  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include:meeting the basic education requirements for the GG-0801-14 grade level and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Experience includes using the knowledge of concepts, principles, procedures, regulations, laws, and instructions applicable to General Engineering; provides technical and functional assistance to the supervisor in regards to making decisions pertaining to General Engineering; possesses the technical competencies to perform functional position requirements in General Engineering; prepares and/or executes programs, policies, procedures and activities in General Engineering. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

    EDUCATION:
    Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. The curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum or include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.

    COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
    combination of experience and education that is college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (1) Professional registration ; current registration as a professional engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico, (2) Written Test; evidence of having successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination, or the written test required for professional registration, which is administered by the Boards of Engineering Examiners in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico, (3) Specified academic courses; successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included courses specified in the basic requirements or (4) Related curriculum; successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
    1. Professional knowledge of a wide range of engineering concepts, principles and practices relating to emerging engineering technologies as applicable to information processing and construction.
    2. Requires Bachelor's Degree in engineering, with a strong background in all aspects of Civil, Electrical, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering. A Master's Degree is desirable.
    3. Ability to quickly and expertly evaluate technical documents/papers, briefings and discussions to determine the relevance of the information to infrastructure/systems directly supporting mission and it's high-level, demanding global customers.
    4. In-depth knowledge of the DoD Planning, Programming and Budget System, the HQ AIA and USAF financial management objectives, and program/project management procedures, precedents, practices, to include policies to assist in preparing the input to the financial plan.
    5. Knowledge of technical knowledge and expertise in general engineering practices in support of electronic and computer-intensive mission systems, secure communications, and physical protection of government facilities.
    6. Requires knowledge of current public law, DoD directives and regulations, USAF instructions and policies to ensure compliance in developing or processing all programs; extensive knowledge of and understanding of the 70 IW's mission, technical objectives and interrelationships amoung individual programs and projects needed to make assessments and recommendations on these selected programs and projects.

List graduate and undergraduate courses separately. Include the descriptive title and course code, completion date, grade, number of semester, quarter or classroom hours (for education completed at business, secretarial, technical school or military schools) and graduate and undergraduate classes. Effective 1 Sep 2016, current internal federal employees must attach their transcripts. Failure to do so, will result in not being referred for the position.
