The Histology Technician performs histology laboratory testing, other lab functions and duties for inpatients and outpatients according to Laboratory policy and procedures. They perform quality control and maintenance procedures in accordance with policy and participate in Laboratory Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Initiatives.

Work Schedule:

Performs and documents all aspects of routine histology procedures in an efficient and superior manner., that may include:
  • Microtomy
  • Embedding
  • Special stains
  • Routine staining
  • Quality control functions
  • Performs periodic maintenance and troubleshoots instruments as needed
  • Verify and distribution of slides
  • Non-GYN Specimen Preparation
  • Other duties as assigned
  • HT/HTL (ASCP) Certified Preferred

Work Schedule: Evening and Weekend Coverage
