BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
FOR THE GS-11 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-09 grade level that demonstrates:
- Evaluation, research/collection, and analysis of current and historical trends of economic data, as well as recommending conclusions based on analyses and preparation of reports.
- Preparation of tables, charts, graphs, or maps to better illustrate and support analytical conclusions.
- Experience working with and manipulating data from numerous sources and in database management.
- Experience with the application of economic techniques and principles using mathematical and/or econometric models, statistical techniques, and software.
- Writing or reviewing of economic studies, working papers, briefing papers, talking points, or decision reports.
- Hands-on economic analysis in areas such as agriculture, international trade, energy, resource, and health.
- 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
- Evaluation, research/collection, and analysis of current and historical trends of economic data, as well as recommending conclusions based on analyses and report preparation.
- Preparation of tables, charts, graphs, or maps to better illustrate and support analytical conclusions.
- Experience working with and manipulating data from numerous sources and in database management.
- Experience with the application of economic techniques and principles using mathematical and/or econometric models, statistical techniques, and software.
- Writing or reviewing of economic studies, working papers, briefing papers, talking points, or decision reports.
- Presenting or teaching economic concepts to specialized and general lay audiences.
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience in areas such as agriculture, agricultural policy, and international trade; and other areas of economics such as energy, resource, and health; and proficiency in the trade of U.S. products and/or commodities
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

- This position is eligible for telework within the local commuting area of the duty location of the position. Employee participation is at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Locality pay will vary based upon the selectee's duty location. A final salary determination will be made upon selection.
