Every day, thousands of people in the region depend on the hospital’s internationally renowned multidisciplinary team of health care professionals, leaders and valued associates to deliver exceptional quality, compassionate, patient-and family focused care. The busiest and largest hospital in Washington, D.C., MWHC has upwards of 6,000 associates, 3,000 clinicians and opened its doors to nearly 433,000 inpatient and outpatient visits in 2018 alone.

The Director of Recruitment Services will report to the Vice President, Human Resources at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and serve as a key member of the Human Resource leadership team.  This new leader will have the opportunity to promote and foster a professional, collegial, employee and patient-focused culture throughout the system, and will strategically implement and leverage new approaches, processes and technologies to attract, recruit, retain and engage top talent for the organization.

The Director will enjoy serving as a mentor and expert resource to internal and external clients of the system and will bring a deep understanding of human resources regulations, industry trends, best practices, technologies and applicable laws to the position.  Other opportunities for the Director of Recruitment Services will include implementing robust communications systems and feedback loops to ensure that timely and accurate data is shared with stakeholders, fortifying and building talent pipelines to ensure that future staffing needs are anticipated and met and collaboratively promoting the MedStar Health and MedStar Washington Hospital Center employer brand.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) along with 7+ years of demonstrated recruitment leadership experience in a large, unionized, matrixed, patient or customer-focused setting.  Experience working in the acute hospital care environment is preferred and candidates with additional Human Resources certifications are encouraged to apply.
