Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current unrestricted Nursing license as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

To qualify for the GS-15: Resume must also demonstrate at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional nurse overseeing statistical studies or data analysis of clinical quality management operations to improve patient outcomes.

To qualify for the GS-14: At least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional nurse conducting statistical studies or data analysis of clinical quality management operations to improve patient outcomes.

To qualify for the GS-13: At least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional nurse analyzing clinical quality management operations to improve patient outcomes.

To qualify for the GS-12: At least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional nurse performing clinical quality management operations to recommend improvements to leadership.

To qualify for the GS-11: At least one full year of professional nursing experience at the GS-09 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional nurse performing clinical quality management operations to ensure patient care protocol.-OR-Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.

A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
