We are seeking a Technical Systems Developer/Engineer to join our Unix Systems Engineering team. The candidate's primary responsibility will be Automating and Coding in a Unix - AWS Cloud - VMware and containerization (OpenShift) environment. In addition, s/he should be able to learn and implement new tools and technologies into a controlled and complex production environment. This Systems Engineer needs to have excellent interpersonal skills, team work, and communication skills.

Automating and Coding in complex Unix AWS/VMware cloud and OpenShift Environment
* Cloud Experience (AWS)
* Strong UNIX scripting (ksh), Java, Perl, Python
* Strong experience with automation.
* Expertise in containerization management with OpenShift
* Working experience with DevOps or Agile processes
* In-depth knowledge of best practices around Docker/Containerization
* Performing regular health checks on environments
* Checking status of environments and individual tools
* Running scripted health checks
* Perform tasks related to persistent volumes and user access
* Build and manage Docker baseline images
* Analyze the readiness of the application to adopt microservices
* Good knowledge of the core service needed for the application (ex: TAM, AD, DB, CMDB, Monitoring etc.)

Systems Operations Support
* Excellent knowledge of and experience with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system, system configuration, and administration
* Work on production related issues. Providing resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems. Solutions are innovative, thorough, and practicable
* Identify, analyze, fix, and determine root cause, follow-up and coordinate changes to resolve complex problems involving hardware, software, networking and applications
* Quickly restore service during system outages, provide troubleshooting support to team members, perform proactive problem prevention, and escalate technical details to technical lead and/or to vendor support
* Write technical documentation, operational procedures, systems documentation and Incident and problem communications and reporting
* Assist with the monitoring performance analysis of existing applications and ensuring that the system is consistent with ongoing need
* Writing and managing scripts and utilities to automate day to day systems administration and configuration management tasks
* Responsible for configuration for SAN disks using native OS or third-party drivers on Linux and Solaris Servers
* Responsible for regular backup and restore operations for Linux and Solaris Systems using Tivoli Storage Manager
* Identify, control, maintain and verify OS baseline configurations and manage server resources and predict the need for additional capacity in advance
* Install and configure various enterprise wide infrastructure tools on Linux and Solaris Servers

Project/Customer Support
* Represents the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs a project leadership role for the team. Interacts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines.
* Works under limited direction independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion for quality and adequacy in satisfying objectives.


* Typically has 2 - 5 years related experience in Unix System administration
* At least 1 year of experience in OpenShift AND/OR Kubernetes cluster
* BS or Master Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or IT or related field
* AWS Certification - SysOps or Architect
* Strong experience with UNIX scripting (ksh), Java, Perl, Python
* Ability to work with and collaborate across the teams
* Ability to develop mutually beneficial relationships inside and outside of the division
* Ability to work independently with customers to complete tasks assigned to successfully support deployments.
