Summary
The MIL Corporation seeks a Technical Writer/Editor to provide on-site support at a Federal Government client's facility located in Crystal City, VA. The Technical Writer/Editor will support the development and documentation of logistical policies and procedures for life-cycle support and sustainment operations of equipment systems deployed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Responsibilities
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with logisticians to produce high-quality documentation that is grammatically correct and error free.
  • Responsible for the compilation, review and editing of technical and administrative documentation.
  • Provide support for the development of policy directives, guidebooks, program/project briefing materials and correspondences.
  • Work closely with government client and team to ensure schedule and objectives are met and exceeded.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or applicable discipline.
  • 5 years Technical Writing/Editing experience including editing, preparation, and production of technical reports, policies, and other documentation.
  • Experience working at a customer site or Government facility.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Power Point, Excel and other applications.
  • Demonstrated writing/editing skills with the ability to gather information from multiple sources, organize and synthesize the information into a clear point of view, and create a concise and well-written narrative.
  • Familiar with governing standards and guidelines associated with the preparation of technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of computer graphics software and VISIO.
  • Possess an active SECRET clearance and completed a DHS CBP Background Investigation.

Desired Qualifications
  • MA/MBA/MS degree in English, Journalism or applicable discipline
