Summer @ Potomac Nurse

The Potomac School, a K-12 independent school in McLean, VA is seeking a registered nurse for the 2019 summer camp. The work is expected to last for three weeks in July from July 15, 2019 till August 2, 2019. The summer camp nurse is mainly responsible for providing direct health care to the campers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Assess and provide First Aid to campers and staff members, when needed
•  Ensure safety of campers and staff members by promoting effective health practices
•  Communicate with parents and staff members about sick or injured campers
• Monitor for allergies and infectious diseases during the camp day
•  Administer medications at appropriate times
•  Document health office visits
•  Maintain medications and first aid kits in the nurse's office
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•  Registered Nurse, currently licensed in the state of Virginia
•  Must have current CPR certification
•  A minimum of 5 years of experience of working with kids (ages 5-12), preferred in a school setting
