2019-2009 US-MD-Hyattsville Category Information Technology Type Full-Time/Regular Overview Karna is seeking a full-time Java Programmer to support the CDC's Division of Health Care Statistics in Hyattsville, MD. This position will utilize advanced Java programming skills and the ability to program in JavaScript and JSON, including a solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle to contribute to the division's mission of enhancing public health through the collection, analysis, and dissemination of nationwide health data. Responsibilities Gather requirements, develop code, test, debug, and support applications Participate in creating detailed technical specifications Participate in implementing software systems using Java technologies Perform testing and research of software systems to enhance performance Qualifications BS/BA required (MS preferred) in Computer Science or a related field 5+ years of related work experience including: Java, JavaScript, and JSON programming Eclipse, IDE, Apache, and Spring frameworks XML technologies - XPath, XSLT, XQuery, XProc, Schematron, etc. APIs - design and implementation EHR data - HL7 datatypes, RIM, and CDA Basic SAS programming SOA and microservices architectures Experience with public health data preferred US Citizenship required for upper level Public Trust Clearance PM18 PI108665554
