PCTEL Inc. - Germantown Location is looking for a Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain both external and internal software applications by applying suitable design methodologies. This position is will be located in the Germantown Maryland. Selected candidate will perform the following: Resolve a wide variety of problems by evaluating, selecting and adapting engineering techniques, designs, methods, algorithms, procedures and criteria based on general direction. Take an active role in the development and maintenance of both external and internal software applications. Develop software design documents Work closely with other functional groups and provide high quality technical support. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. The position requires the following: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Master's degree preferred 4-6 years of related work experience in a wireless product development environment Extensive workplace experience designing and developing PC-based software applications. Intermediate skills developing commercial software products by using Android Studio under Windows platform. Intermediate knowledge of objected-oriented design, software design methodologies and design patterns; knowledge of concepts regarding multithreading, modernization, and memory management. Intermediate knowledge of using source control software. bility to provide technical leadership in solving the complex system problems and make technical decisions. Basic knowledge or relational database design and programming. Basic skills developing engineering requirements and functional specifications. Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from qualified resources Basic knowledge of relational database design and programming Basic knowledge of software development using Visual C# and .NET technologies is a plus, as well as knowledge of using signal generator, spectrum analyzer and protocol analyzer. Basic knowledge of cellular technologies is a plus.
