Our client, a well-known name in the MSP space, is looking to grow their technical team due to growth of their client base in the DC metro area. They are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong communication skills and at least 5+ years working for an MSP or onsite as support staff for a small to mid-sized business. Position Summary The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment helping clients achieve optimal use of their workstations, servers, networks, and peripherals by performing needs analysis, procurement support, installation, training, and problem resolution. The Senior Network Consultant will take ownership of any support requests and take action to resolve any problems or engage the correct internal or external resources to resolve the issue. The SNC will also manage a subset of existing clients, acting as an expert resource for technical escalations as well as engaging existing clients on a regular basis to ensure client satisfaction and appropriate long-term IT planning. Responsibilities Provide on-site and remote desktop support for end users Provide escalation support for Support Services technicians Design, configure, monitor, and optimize IT infrastructure for optimal performance, maximum availability, minimal maintenance, and reasonable costs Analyze users needs and recommend appropriate technology infrastructure configurations Implement and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, Windows servers and InternetIntranet connections Perform preventative and fault isolation maintenance on local and wide area networks Perform file maintenance on servers, domains, and user files andor databases Design, configure, maintain, and manage network security and backup features for local and wide area networks Configure, monitor, and maintain anti-virus and backup programs to ensure network and systems integrity Perform advanced diagnostics and maintenance on desktop devices when additional expertise is required Analyze, recommend, and evaluate new hardware and software products for network compatibility Develop, maintain, and update a library of technical documentation Keep current on new developments and techniques in information technology Perform other related organizational and logistical duties as may be reasonably assigned Required Experience Windows Desktop Operating System installation, support and troubleshooting (Windows 7810) Windows Server installation, support, and administration (2003200820122016) Windows Active Directory design, deployment, and administration Experience designing and deploying Windows Group Policies Microsoft Exchange Server 201020132016 Administration, deployment, and migration Managed antivirus solutions Enterprise backup solutions TCPIP network design and troubleshooting Configuration, deployment, and support of network routers, switches, and firewalls Microsoft Office Basic use, installation, and troubleshooting (including Project and Visio) Virtualization Technologies (Primarily VMWare and Hyper-V) Education and Certifications Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or other related disciplines Certifications CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE, VMware
