    Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of fiscal and accounting rules, principles, and regulations sufficient to serve as a subject matter expert on fiscal operations, reconciliation activities, financial audits, and financial management practices. Examples of specialized experience include the following:

    1. Applying a wide-range of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques sufficient to conduct reviews and analyses of hundreds of thousands of transactions;
    2. Resolving data discrepancies and conducting audits;
    3. Responding to specific inquiries from stakeholders about complex fiscal matters;
    4. Writing policies and procedures that govern fiscal programs; and
    5. Overseeing debt management.

    There is no Education requirement or substitution at this grade level.

    The information you provide may be verified by a review of your work experience and/or education, by checking references and through other means (ex. interview).  Your evaluation may also include a review by an HR Specialist or panel and may include other assessment tools (ex. interview, structured interview, written test, work sample, etc).  The examining Human Resources Office (HRO) makes the final determination concerning applicant ratings.  Your resume MUST provide sufficient information to substantiate your vacancy question responses.  If not, the HRO may amend your responses to more accurately reflect the level of competency indicated by the content of your resume.
